Highlights of the Course
➡️ Our Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) program holds the distinction of being the pioneer in Kerala University under the 2(b) scheme, incorporating a comprehensive 1000-hour fieldwork component. This program is structured to equip students with the foundational skills necessary for generalist practice, enabling them to engage effectively with individuals, families, groups, organizations, and communities at the outset of their careers. Upon completing the program, students will possess the competence to engage professionally, under supervision, with diverse client systems across various levels of intervention. We have students from various parts of the world including Uganda, West Africa etc.
➡️ The Master of Social Work (MSW) curriculum spans four semesters, facilitating a sequential learning process aimed at preparing students to become proficient, socially engaged professionals in the realm of human services and development. In the third semester, students have the option to pursue one of two specialized tracks: Medical and Psychiatric Social Work or Community Development. These specializations are tailored to provide focused training and expertise in specific areas of practice.
➡️ Social work graduates can pursue various career paths, including roles as clinical social workers, school social workers, case managers, community organizers, policy analysts, researchers, and nonprofit administrators. They can work in settings such as hospitals, mental health clinics, schools, social service agencies, government agencies, and international organizations, making a positive impact on individuals, families, and communities.
