REPORT ON INDUSTRIAL VISIT 2024
➡️ On Day 1, We left college around 3:30 p.m. and landed at Wayanad at 6:00 a.m. After refreshing up, we set off for Kuruvadweep at 8:00 a.m. Following breakfast at a neighboring family restaurant, we took a bamboo boat ride to an island and returned for lunch at the same location. Later, we visited the major Moti Waterfalls to fully appreciate its magnificence before departing for Coorg between 6:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., arriving around 9:00 p.m. We ate supper at a restaurant before heading to Lords for our accommodations.
➡️ On Day 2, the tour began at 8:00 a.m. with breakfast at the same Coorg restaurant, followed by a visit to the Golden Temple on Mona Street. The party then left for Chikmagalur at 2:00 p.m., stopping for lunch before continuing on a beautiful climb to the Hilltop Chamber Waterfalls, where they enjoyed scenic views until returning at 7:00 p.m. After supper, they went shopping before spending the night in Chikmagalur.
➡️ On Day 3, we started with breakfast at 8:30 a.m., followed by a visit to a temple in Bailu. The party then went on water rides including the Banana Ride, Kayak King, and rafting in the surrounding area. They next went on an industrial visit to the Testie World Food Factory in Chikmagalur, where they learned about many areas of food production and industry operations.
➡️ During our industrial tour on February 10, 2024, we stopped at the Testie World Food Factory in Chikmagalur. For more than ten years, this plant has produced snacks such as chakli, murukku, wafers, gulab jamun, and mixes. We witnessed the manufacturing process for these delicacies and visited their glass exhibit, which displayed the production and packaging methods.
➡️ Initially operating from a rented location, the plant now has its own facilities and does third-party business with well-known companies such as MTR. We witnessed machinery such as continuous fryers, batch fryers, and electrical appliances at their production facility. The factory also has a café that serves a range of foods, including their signature honey murukku and chakli with chutney. They provide a discount in their store, where all of their items are offered. Following the visit, we traveled to Goa, stopping for dinner and a festival along the route.
➡️ On Day 4, we arrived in Goa in the morning and checked into our resort for breakfast. After lunch, we toured Aguada Fort and Sinquerim Beach before returning to the resort for the evening. Later, we spent a fantastic evening in Wagah Beach, returning at about 3:00 a.m. Day 5 started with breakfast and a visit to the ancient Goa church at 10:00 a.m., followed by some shopping. After that, we began our trek back to college.
REPORT ON MILMA VISIT
➡️ On 5th December 2023, our department facilitated a visit to Ambalathara Milma with 60 students. The primary objective of this visit was to provide the students with an in-depth understanding of the production, operations, and marketing processes within the industry. Through this experience, the students were able to gain valuable insights into how theoretical concepts translate into practical applications within a real-world business environment.
➡️ During the visit, the students had the opportunity to observe firsthand the various stages of production, from raw materials processing to final product packaging. They also gained insight into the intricate marketing strategies employed by Ambalathara Milma to promote and sell its products effectively in the market.
➡️ Furthermore, the visit aimed to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge acquired in the classroom and its practical implementation in the industry. By witnessing the day-to-day operations and challenges faced by industry professionals, the students gained a deeper appreciation for the relevance and applicability of their academic studies in real-life scenarios.
➡️ Overall, the visit to Ambalathara Milma was a valuable educational experience that provided students with practical exposure and enhanced their understanding of the interplay between theory and its practical execution in the field of production and marketing.
