MICROBIOLOGY LABORATORY
INFRASTRUCTURE
The microbiology laboratory is located on the ground floor of the Eastern block of the National college. The department has a well-equipped microbiology laboratory with two demonstration rooms (with 40 students capacity); a Staining room & Inoculation Chamber for carrying out microbiological works in an aseptic manner.

OBJECTIVE
The objective of microbiology laboratory is to equip students with the usage of microbiology media, culture methods, test systems and lab equipments and to impart knowledge of the basic principles of Industrial Microbiology, Food Microbiology, Environmental Microbiology, Agriculture Microbiology, Bacteriology, Mycology and Immunological techniques. The laboratory provides students with a great experience in performing experiments in their area of study. Students are encouraged to do practical work to support their theoretical knowledge, to acquire skills in research design and experimental methods. The laboratory focusses on microbiological food analysis, water analysis, staining techniques, screening techniques, unknown analysis of culture and serological techniques to diagnose diseases.
