Women’s Cell
Women’s Cell of National College, the best art college in Trivandrum, strives to empower girl students by imparting awareness on Women’s Rights and Duties. The main aim of the Women’s Cell is to help girl students to understand the role of women in constructing a healthy society. Different activities organized by the Women’s Cell help the students to strengthen their self-confidence, nurture their skill in decision making and to widen their perspectives on issues related to gender. Women’s Cell acts as a catalyst in ensuring women empowerment and women’s safety on our campus.

2019-2020
- The activities of Women’s Cell 2019-2020 started with its inauguration on 9th January 2020. The chief guest of the programme was Dr A.G. Oleena [Associate Professor, Department of Malayalam, M.G. College, Thiruvananthapuram]. After the Inauguration of Women’s Cell 2019-2020 a self defence awareness programme was led by Narcotics Cell ,Thiruvanathapuram City.
- On 7th March 2020 Women’s Cell of National College organised Women’s day celebration in connection with International Women’s Day 2020. The women’s day celebration was inaugurated by Dr. Seema Jerome[Associate Professor, Department of Malayalam, University Department , Karyavattom , Thiruvananthapuram]. The inaugural session was followed by cultural programmes.
2018-2019
- G’naika 2019 , was inaugurated by Dr. Sreeja s. Nair [ Disaster Risk Reduction Specialist, United Nations Development Programme, Assistant Professor of National Institute of Disaster management , New Delhi]. The thrust areas of the inaugural speech were the significance of International Women’s Day and the need of women empowerment. After the inaugural speech , there was an award ceremony. The second session was filled with entertainment and applauds with the colorful programmes organized by the students.
